Regulated Businesses

Federal, state, and city governments regulate business across many industries.

For example, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) monitors messaging in marketing and advertising. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sets environmental quality standards for industries prone to pollution, like factory farming and manufacturing.

Although the examples above are federal regulations, states and cities are able to pass laws and set their own standards for businesses to follow.

Businesses of all types need to be aware of the unique rules and government regulations in every market they serve.
